How we source, verify, and attribute information in the Epstein Exposed database.
Data Sources
Court Documents
Unsealed court filings from Giuffre v. Maxwell, USA v. Maxwell, USA v. Epstein, and related civil litigation. These are primary source documents filed with federal and state courts.
Department of Justice
Official DOJ releases, indictments, plea agreements, and sentencing documents. These carry the highest level of official verification.
FBI Reports
FBI investigative reports obtained through FOIA requests or released as part of court proceedings.
House Oversight Committee
Documents released by the House Oversight Committee investigations, including correspondence and internal communications.
Flight Logs
Aircraft flight manifests from Epstein's fleet, including the Boeing 727, Gulfstream II, and helicopter. These were entered as court exhibits.
Black Book
Epstein's personal contact book, obtained by law enforcement and entered into court records. Presence in this book indicates contact information was recorded, not wrongdoing.
Trust Levels
Each person in our database is assigned a trust level based on their status in legal proceedings. These levels help users understand the context of each individual's inclusion.
Found guilty in a court of law for offenses related to the Epstein case.
Formally charged or indicted but case may be pending or resolved.
Named in allegations, claims, or lawsuits but not criminally charged.
Appears in flight logs, contact books, or other records. This does not imply wrongdoing.
Referenced in documents, depositions, or reporting. Inclusion is for completeness.
Evidence Badges
Source badges appear on person profiles and cards to indicate what types of evidence document their connection to the case.
Person appears on one or more aircraft manifests.
Person's contact information is recorded in Epstein's personal book.
Person is named in one or more court documents.
Person is referenced in Department of Justice materials.
Person is referenced in reporting or secondhand accounts only.
Editorial Policy
Epstein Exposed is a research and transparency tool. We do not editorialize or draw conclusions about any individual's guilt or innocence.
All data is sourced from publicly available records. We attribute every fact to its source document wherever possible.
Connections between individuals are derived algorithmically from co-appearances in flight logs and co-mentions in documents. A connection does not imply a personal relationship or shared culpability.
